Tropical Storm Isaac raised considerable concern early last week as it looked set to turn into a hurricane before barrelling down upon the Caribbean island of Hispaniola, shared by both Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

Tropical Storm Isaac pummels Haiti’s homeless

Tropical Storm Isaac has killed at least four people in different parts of Haiti, with more than 4,000 people still remaining in temporary emergency shelters. Lashing rains and gale-force winds and high winds were reported along parts of the country on Saturday.
