Special rapporteur Miloon Kothari visited Lebanon in the period from September 07 to 10 and Israel in the period from September 10 to 14, 2006, less than one month after the end of the armed conflict between July and August.
The special rapporteur for arbitrary and extrajudicial executions, the special rapporteur for the right of physical and mental health and the representative of the secretary general for the internally displaced people also took part in the visit.
The report contains the view of the four specialists on how the conduction of the hostilities by Israel and Hezbollah affected the rights to life, health and housing of the civil population in both countries.
The document also examines the huge challenges imposed for the assurance of these rights after the conflict and gives recommendations for the Israel and Lebanon government, to Hezbollah and to the international community
